Spain attend training session ahead of upcoming international matches against Wales and England

Spain are heading back into international action this week, after securing a victory over England and thrashing Croatia last month.

The players attended a training session at Los Rozas in Madrid today, before they head to Cardiff for a match against Wales on Thursday.

Then, they’ll be flying back to Sevilla for a return match against England in the Nations League next week.

training session, as some of the game’s top stars were put through their paces.

A couple of the Spain squad secured Ballon d’Or nominations today, but they weren’t given any respite as the team warmed up for a couple of intriguing matches.

Isco, who is currently sidelined with an injury, is up for the award, as is his team-mate, Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

Ramos, along with the likes of Sergio Busquets, Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso and Alvaro Morata, and Manchester United keeper David de Gea were all making sure they’re up to the task of their upcoming matches.

Spain had a disappointing World Cup, going out in the round of 16 to hosts Russia on penalties in surprising fashion. They’ve done well since then though, grabbing wins against second and fourth placed World Cup teams Croatia and England.

Spain conceded early to a Marcus Rashford goal in their match against England, but strikes from Saul and Rodrigo later in the first half secured the win.

A few days alter they completed an absolute drubbing of Croatia, humbling the team which did so well in Russia a couple of months previously. Spain scored six goals, including one own goal. Saul, Asensio, Rodrigo, Ramos, and Isco all got on the score sheet, along with the own goal from Kalinic.

They will be facing a Wales team on Thursday which is unlikely to feature their star man Gareth Bale, so Spain will be looking to keep their run of form going.

England will be hungry for revenge next week though, and Gareth Southgate has selected a youthful squad including the likes of Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount. Spain will face a tough test, and it seems like the players have been training hard in preparation.
