The works for the extension and remodeling of the Provincial Fire Brigade Park in Benidorm have already entered their final phase and are expected to be completed by the beginning of 2019, as announced yesterday by the Emergency Deputy, Jaume Lloret during a visit to the installation together the chief inspector of the Operational Service of the Consortium, José Rubio, the chief non-commissioned officer of the Operational Area of ​​the Marina Baixa, Santiago Rivera, among others.

The works started in May of this year and involve the implementation of the Provincial Plan for Infrastructure and Emergencies.

An initiative that aims to “optimize operability, improve habitability and provide the whole province of Alicante with adequate facilities for the XXI century,” said Lloret.

The head of the Operational Service of the Consortium took advantage of the visit to take stock of the annual activity in the area of ​​the Marina Baixa, which between January to September of this year has registered 851 interventions, 12.72% of the entire province in that period. Rubio explained that almost 50% of those interventions (413) were in the city of Benidorm, followed by La Vila Joiosa (90), Altea (74), L’Alfàs del Pi (69), Calp (64), La Nucia (52) and Finestrat (42).

“There is the circumstance that in the first nine months of the year there has been at least one intervention in each of the municipalities that make up the operational area,” said the chief inspector.

In terms of personnel, Deputy Lloret announced the incorporation of 45 new firefighters from the job pool generated after the last selection process.
